An oldie but a goodie

Today is Baking Day. Or, alternatively, fill the lunchboxes with something rustled up from the bare cupboard day. And bare it is – I am something of a modern day Mother Hubbard with my nespresso stocks full, cavoodle at my side, and no snacks on hand for the hungry kids.

So, out with the trusty old Edmonds Cookbook – and straight to the Sultana Loaf, 1st edition recipe. First published in 1908 – the recipe still stands up 106 years on. Fantastic, delicious and not requiring a lot of dishes or fancy machinery.
